After that time he was moved from place to place and from one family member to the next until he went to college. He struggled as a music major, often unable to take criticsm from his professors. Finally, he switched to sociology and graduated. He entered a Master's program in Social Work, but dropped out in his final semester after one of his professors chastised him for exercising poor judgement in dealing with a client. Since college, he has managed to work, often changing positions and only earning a meager living. His relationships with his superiors at work are usually antagonistic. He has made several attempts to operate his own business, but these have all ended in failure. Whenever he is stressed, he breaks out in painful and publicly embarrassing skin rash. He is unable to ride public transportation and continues to spend a lot of his time thinking about his failed music career.
